White Labeling Industry Guide

What is White Labeling?

Are you a photo booth owner but doesn't like the hassle of online advertising and attending bridal shows? There's another revenue stream that you might be missing out on called white labeling.

White labeling in the photo booth industry (another name for subcontracting) is rapidly expanding market where one photo booth company (the customer) books an event under their brand and then subcontracts (or "white labels") that job to another company (called the supplier, provider, or sub-contractor) who will work the event under their direction and their brand.

Why don't marketing agencies just Google a booth company in each city and booking them directly?

When a large booth company books a multi-city project, the overall service and experience that are provided in each location will need to be as consistent as possible for the national client. For example, a marketing agency doing the same event in 10 different cities are going to want the following elements to be same for the duration of the tour.

  • Equipment model/size/color
  • Digital artwork added to photos
  • Touchscreen interface
  • Backdrop
  • Customer service point of contact

Why is this hard to accomplish? There's a million reasons but it all comes down to a lack of standardization across the industry. Here's a list the inconsistencies from one company to the next:

  • Equipment
  • Software
  • Experience
  • Work standards
  • Contract terms
  • And more...
